Having butt implants will, they reckon, give them a larger or more shapely bottom.
If you come to the conclusion that butt implants are the way ahead for you, then make your initial consultation with a qualified, experienced, specialist cosmetic surgeon.

You can explain to your surgeon the sort of butt you would like to end up with and they can explain to you the types of incision and types of implant available and make you aware of the limitations and possibilities of the procedure – as well as any possible side effects. By discussing your medical background, your surgeon will be able to provide you with all the necessary advice to prepare for the operation as well as tell you how to help speed up your recovery period. You might also discuss whether liposuction might help improve the shape of the butt.

Butt implants are, essentially, just the same as breast implants – and used for more or less the same reason: to perfect the shape or increase the size of the butt. Usually, using general anesthetic in an operation lasting about two hours, an incision is made in the fold between the butt cheeks. A solid silicone implant can then be positioned in the pocket below the gluteous muscle and above the pelvic bone.

In the USA it is quite common for patients to return home a few hours after the surgery – as long as they don’t attempt to drive themselves – whereas in Britain most clinics or private hospitals will keep you in for at least an overnight stay.

Whichever of these two options is chosen, you should be prepared for an uncomfortable few days. Butt implant surgery, or buttock augmentation to be more formal, stretches tissues and can be quite painful – although you will be able to have painkillers and possibly anti-inflammatory tablets and antibiotics. You will experience both swelling and bruising and have to keep a clean, dry dressing on the wound for one to two weeks at least.
Because of this, you will not be able to bath or shower for a time.

There will also be a need to wear a specifically designed corset type of garment to help the healing process. Because you use your butt in almost every activity – walking, sitting, even sleeping – the whole recovery process can be quite challenging and the recovery rate will depend very much upon the individual. Any sutures that do not self-dissolve will be taken out after about two weeks, by which time you should be ready to return to work. You will have to avoid any lifting or heavy physical exertion for a little longer, however, and keep away from energetic sports for at least a couple of months. By about three months after the operation, though, you should have a butt to be proud of!

As with any cosmetic surgery, there are risks and potential complications: infection, bleeding an excess of scarring. There are always possibilities of the implants moving or even rupturing, which could provoke additional surgery. Having said that, almost always butt implant surgery does exactly what you want it to do – and provides you with a butt to be proud of for at least ten years.

Depending on where you live, butt implants can cost you between $3,000 and $10,000 – but about $4,500 appears to be the average cost for the surgery. In Britain, depending on the clinic, it will range from £4,000 to around £5,600.

Butt Implants
People who decide they would like butt implants mostly choose this form of cosmetic surgery for the same reason as people choose any form – because they consider it will enhance the appearance of their body.
