This form of cosmetic surgery is now commonly available for both men and women.
Buttock implant surgery, medically known as gluteoplasty, is carried out under general anesthetic. Before you go to the clinic for the plastic surgery, you will have a preliminary consultation with your surgeon who will give you all the necessary information about not only the operation itself but also the pre and post operative care. You can ask all of your questions and try to allay any concerns you might have. Your surgeon will need to know your previous medical history and if you are currently taking any medication. You will probably be advised not to take any aspirin for several weeks before the surgery, as this can cause problems with blood clotting.
The procedure, which normally takes between one and two hours to perform, involves incisions being made between the buttock cheeks. A shaped silicone implant is then inserted into a pocket created behind the upper buttock muscle. The sutures used will usually be of the self-dissolving type and the resulting scars will be between the buttock cheeks. A dressing will be applied to the wound, which will need to be replaced and kept in position for about two weeks. In most instances, you will stay in hospital for at least one night following the surgery.
A certain amount of post-operative discomfort is to be anticipated but painkillers can be taken. There will also inevitably be some swelling and bruising, which will begin to ease after a few days but could persist for two or three weeks in total. You will be advised to wear a correctly fitted corset-type garment to help keep the swelling to a minimum and support the wound. Initially this will need to be kept on for twenty four hours a day but then you will be able to leave it off at night.
Unfortunately, because you will have to keep your dressing and wound completely dry, you will not be able to have a bath or a shower for the first ten days. Also, because walking and sitting and many other everyday activities utilize the buttocks, it will take between two or three weeks before you feel that you have reached a feeling something approaching ‘normality’.
Apart from these anticipated inconveniences, you should not suffer any serious side effects as a result of your buttock implants. Risks associated with most surgery such as infection, bleeding and collection of fluid are very rare and excessive scarring or displacement of the implant is similarly rarely reported. You can expect to return to work when given the go-ahead by your surgeon and this will largely depend on the kind of work you do. Most patients are able to work after about two weeks but you should avoid any lifting for at least four weeks and strenuous exercise for at least six weeks.
The final results of the gluteoplasty should be seem after approximately three months, although the scarring will take longer to fade.
In most instances, you can expect to enjoy possessing a fuller, more rounded bottom for a good ten years or so.
In Britain, you can expect to pay anywhere between £4,000 and £7,000 for buttock implants, depending on the clinic, whereas the all-in costs in the USA average at about $4,500.
Buttock Implants
A person wanting a curvaceous bottom, in proportion with the rest of the body, or perhaps wanting a bottom that is not shapeless or flat, should seriously consider buttock implants.
